For the past day, the Chinese fan community has been abuzz with talk about Mitchie M writing a new Hatsune Miku song for the Bilibili 2020 New Year’s Celebration on January 24.
Even Hatsune Miku’s official Weibo account joined in to tease us with this image upload, inviting people to follow Mitchie M on Weibo too.

Now Mitchie M has made the official announcement with details about the music video that will make its debut at China’s biggest video festa!
“At the Bilibili New Year’s Celebration on January 24, my new song 买买买 (mai mai mai) will be played! 加速サトウ / Kasoku Sato‘s 3D Hatsune Miku model will be featured in the music video, sporting a futuristic Chinese style outfit, and director Tatsuro Ogata will be giving us another super high-quality spectacle to enjoy! Look forward to it!! ^^”
The song title 买买买 (mai mai mai) means “buy buy buy” in Chinese, and suggests excited and aggressive shopping. Michie M’s official blog suggests that the song will have a shopping theme to it.
January 24, 2020 is right on Chinese New Year’s eve, and that is when the annual Bilibili New Year’s Celebration will be streamed live online with Michie M’s new song being part of the lineup! Furthermore, the music video director, Tatsuro Ogata, is no stranger to working with the famed VOCALOID producer, making the videos for several of Mitchie M’s songs like Birthday Song for Miku and ぶれないアイで / Burenai Ai de. Mitchie M sings high praises for Ogata and Kasoku Sato’s works, and promises that their latest project together will deliver another high-quality video!
