What To Expect From the Sakura Miku x Animate Café 2020
I have to say, there’s one event that I’m particularly excited about this year : the Sakura Miku x Goodsmile Company x Animate Cafe collaboration happening soon!
But why am I quite so excited? Well, that’s because I’ll be going there myself! So what do we know about the event already?
We know that the event will be running from the 18th March to 20th April 2020, and that there has been a variety of cherry blossom – themed art pieces produced for it (as to be expected). As well as this, the event will be held in Akihabara and Osaka, and it’s free entry for all.
Actually, that reminds me! There was also a competition for people to submit ideas for the Café’s potential menu items AND artwork for its collaboration merchandise recently. People were encouraged to produce art to represent what kind of food and drink they’d like to see there, as well as to put forward drawings to be used for the newest sakura-centred Vocaloid goods. The deadline for this was the 31st October 2019, and so far we have results for both of these!
So… here is the adorable art which was selected!
The main visuals for it were created by 芳野サク :
As well as this, there is a variety of other art featured on the official collaboration page, so it was safe to assume that there would be plenty of cute merchandise with these on available too. If you’re curious about the merchandise which will be available, you can read about it all here!
Here are the other artists and their stunning work:
綿 / Men (Attaka Taoru Men)
さくらしおり (Sakura Shiori)
福きつね (Fuku Kitsune)
つるしまたつみ / Tsurushima Tatsumi
(I have to say, the piece by Tsurushima Tatsumi is probably my favourite, since Rin and Len look super cute… I definitely want whatever merch has this on it!)
猫魚 /Neko Sakana
As for the menu item designs… seeing them made me ten times more excited for the collabo!
Reservations are NOT required to go to this cafe collaboration, but you may be given a numbered ticket for your order.
You can read specifically about the menu item comp winners right here:
(Update: and to see what the menu items look like in real life, check out my new article here!).
That’s all I’ve got for you for now, but I’m definitely excited to write more about this upcoming Sakura Miku event. Thanks for reading!
