Wonder of Wonder Art Project From daniwellP
In these tough times, we’re all struggling with trying to keep ourselves occupied while being stuck indoors… but the Vocaloid and vocal synth community has our back!
daniwell recently released the song “Wonder of Wonder”, featuring the vocals of Hatsune Miku! The video consists of an adorable Miku dancing around while she changes colour.
A few days later, the producer unveiled their own interactive web-app, where you can actually design your own character to stand on top of the pedestal and dance just like the Miku in the music video.
I’ve created a website! You can draw [on the template] and then [the drawing] will dance in time with the music! Please feel free to play [this game]!
With daniwell being a particularly famous Vocaloid producer, word of this web-app spread fast, with people making their own videos using characters from various fandoms even outside of the vocal synth world!
So here’s how to join in, regardless of what characters you choose to feature!
(After the this set of instructions, I’ll also show you some dancing Vocaloids that other artists have made to give you a little inspiration!)
When you follow the link, you’ll be met with this cute start screen! As it says, just tap the screen to start. This app works on most devices capable of having an internet connection (excluding PCs as far as I’m aware), so maybe try using it on your tablet too, especially if you wanna create something ultra-detailed.
After this, you’ll be met with a dancing Miku designed by daniwell themselves! To start drawing, click the “DRAW” button in the top left hand corner.
When drawing, you’ll get this interface. It’s quite small on smartphones, so I’d definitely recommend trying it out with a bigger screen if you can. The “character” part is where you draw the figure that you want to dance, while the “particle” boxes give you the option to draw two different random things to fly up in the air around them!
The “HOW TO USE” button hiding at the bottom of the page explains all of the buttons and their features. the zoom feature does actually allow to zoom in quite far, which helps a lot.
When you click on the pen or eraser tool, you can also see a small black bar beneath them. Use the white dot in the bar to change the width of your brush or eraser. To change the colour you’re using for you brush, click on the black dot to the right of the bar. It might look like you can only get black, white and shades of grey, but never fear! Move the colour picker (white circle) from the direct middle and you’ll see new colours appear. Put the slider all the way to the right and you’ll get the pure colour!
WARNING: There is no eye dropper tool, so make sure to be careful when colouring in! And also watch out for drawing on the wrong layer like I kept doing…
Once you’re finished with your creation, you can click “OKAY” and you’ll see said creation dance! If you’d like to continue editing the design, just click on “DRAW” again.
When you’re finished, click “SHARE” to show everyone what you’ve made! Remember to add the hashtag #WonderofWonderArt so that more people can see and enjoy it, if you’d like!
Tips: when you’re in the viewing mode (after you’ve done your illustration), use your fingers to see a near 360 degree view of it!
In the top right hand corner is a question mark [?] button, which when clicked will give you links to the introductions for all of the Cryptonloids on Piapro, as well as YouTube and NicoNicoDouga links to the original song! You can also find a link straight to daniwell’s twitter account, and share the app with friends via Facebook or Twitter.
