SEGA Prize Hatsune Miku Super Premium Figure Outfit Design Contest Round 3
I’m sure all you budding artists have been keeping busy recently, especially with all of the exciting competitions and drawing prompts going around on social media recently! But now we have another competition from SEGA and Piapro: it’s one to create a new prize figure design for Miku! This is the third installment of the “SEGA Prize Hatsune Miku Super Premium Figure Outfit Design Contests”, but if you’re interested in the previous installment, you can read about it right here!
Right, now onto the specifics!
The theme for this round is “Splash Parade“, so you’ll need to design the figure based on your interpretation of this theme.

Details of the competition
- Submission dates: from 18th April 2020 until 15th June 2020 at 5:00 PM (JST)
- Number of winners: 1
- Theme: Splash Parade
- Character: Hatsune Miku
Information about submitting your entry
- Size of submission: applicants must use the template at the bottom of this page.
- Amount of submissions allowed: one entrant can enter as many times as they like, but only one entry can be chosen to win at the end of the competition overall.
- Color mode for submissions: RGB
- Required file format: jpg or png
- Resolution: not specified
- Licensing: Do NOT set a license for your entry. Licenses cannot be changed after posting your entry, so the only way to change this would be to delete and re-upload your entry
- Tags: whatever tags you use, make sure to include the “セガ_フィギュア3” tag, otherwise your entry won’t be counted. When posting your design, any current competition or collaboration tags will be displayed with other popular tags. Also make sure to lock said tag.
- Your entry must NOT have been published anywhere else or entered into any other previous competitions.
- The final day of submitting competition entries, the website may face an influx of entries which can cause delays to uploading posts. Therefore please try to upload entries slightly earlier than 15th June 2020 to avoid this. Anything posted after the entry deadline will NOT be eligible for participation.
- Anyone underage will need permission from a parent or guardian to join in with the competition. Being “underage” should depend on the law where you live, since the page lists “18” as being an adult, while “20” is cited as the age of becoming an adult in Japan.
- If you are selected to win, all following correspondence will be in Japanese. Hence why you will most probably need to have a reasonable knowledge of the language if you decide to enter the competition.
Design guidelines
- It is mentioned of the main competition page that they’re looking for a “cheerful Miku” with an overall “pop summer” design. Take this information as you will!
- No more than two accessories can be included in the design: for example, a hat and a bag, or a microphone and a heart effect.
- It is requested that entrants try to keep their designs as modest as possible. For example, anything inappropriate which is too revealing will lead to your design(s) being discounted. An example given on the website is “fishnet stockings”. As well as this, outfit designs which are too complicated, e.g with huge voluminous skirts, may also be a factor leading to your design not being chosen.
- Similarly, a creating a design with particularly intricate hair (such as very curly hair or even potentially hair drills) could lead to your design not being chosen. They want a design which isn’t too complicated to recreate in figure form!
- If your design is chosen, you may be consulted about any potential alterations to the design.
- This may seem like an obvious one, but make sure that you don’t copy someone else’s work. Not only is plagiarism illegal, but this will cause a lot of hassle and will potentially lead to your entry being disqualified.
Here is the template you’ll need to use:
(You can download the template from the contest page here.)
Results are said to be announced sometime in July 2020, and the winner shall be contacted by email. Results will also be announced on the Piapro blog around the same time.
If you happen to be selected as the winner, you will receive an email ending with “@crypton.co.jp”, sent to the email address attached to your registered Piapro account. As mentioned before, the majority (if not all) correspondence will be in Japanese from there on, so please make sure that you are able to converse to a good enough degree with said language in the case that you win.
Great! Now that all of that boring stuff is out of the way, we wish all of you artists out there the best of luck!
Thank you for reading, and if anything, make sure to have fun with this!
