“Snow House” Illustration Contest For Magical Mirai in Tokyo Starts Now!
2020 is getting two thematically different Magical Mirai events, so it makes sense that they would each get their own themed illustration contests. Following Vol. 1 of the event poster project themed around “Matsuri,” we now have Vol. 2 themed around “Snow House!” See details below on how to enter!
Contest Details
- Theme: “Your idea of a character Snow House (or Life in a Snow House)”
- Amount of winners: 100 (number is subject to change)
- Prizes: The chance to see your illustration used at the Magical Mirai 2020 Tokyo event exhibition!
- Contest deadline: October 12th 2020 at 17:00 (JST)
- Results announcement: sometime in October 2020
Acceptable Characters
Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO.
Derivative characters (like Snow Miku, Mikudayo, etc.) are not allowed.
Entries must abide by the piapro character license.

Illustration size: 42.6cm x 30.3cm (A3 size)
Format: JPEG
Color mode: RGB
Resolution: 350 dpi or higher
Tags: whatever tags you use, make sure to include the マジカルミライTOKYO_ポスター tag, otherwise your entry won’t be counted. When posting your design, any current competition or collaboration tags will be displayed with other popular tags. Also make sure to tag lock (タグロック) it.
License: remember to NOT set a license for the work you upload.
Notes
If your entry wins, the contest organizers may need to enlarge your illustration to greater than A3 size
If there are a large number of entries, winners will be chosen by lottery from among the eligible entries
Cautionary Points
Outfit rules:
- ALLOWED:
– Any official box art costume
– Variations of any official box art costume
– Any original designs
– Magical Mirai 2020 Tokyo character outfits - NOT ALLOWED:
– Any costumes from video games, anime, manga, or other third party copyrighted works - You may submit photos that you have taken, but photos containing any official products (Nendoroids, dolls, etc.) or illustrations done by other artists are not allowed.
- Each entrant can only enter ONE piece into the competition. Should you enter multiple artworks, the one with the latest submission date will be the one accepted.
- It might be necessary for the contest organizers to stretch your design beyond A3 size.
- It might be necessary for the contest organizers to crop your design.
- The contest organizers may require you to provide a high-resolution version of your illustration.
- Entrants younger than 18 years of age must supply consent from a parent or guardian. Note: Being “underage” should depend on the law where you live, since the page lists “18” as being an adult, while “20” is cited as the age of adulthood in Japan.
- Entries must be the work of a single individual; entries created by companies or a group of people are not allowed.
- Make sure to not change your email address after completing your entry.
- You are solely responsible if claims are filed against your entry for infringing on the rights of any third party. The contest organizers bear no responsibility.
- Your entry must be an original work that has never been uploaded online before or used in other contests.
- On the final day of submitting competition entries, the website may face an influx of entries which can cause delays to uploading posts. Therefore, please try to upload entries slightly earlier than October 12th 2020 to avoid this. Anything posted after the entry deadline will NOT be eligible for participation.
- Entries and their information (titles, descriptions, etc.) cannot be modified after the deadline.
- Any entry that is not displayed on the entry list page has not been accepted by the contest organizers. Please make sure to follow all submission rules.
- Your nickname that will be displayed with your entry will be the one that you set at the licensing step. If a name is not set, then your piapro nickname and ID will be displayed instead.
- If you are selected to win, all following correspondence will be in Japanese. You will most probably need to have a reasonable knowledge of the language if you decide to enter the competition.
Results are said to be being announced in mid-October on the piapro website. Winners will also be notified via email by Crypton Future Media, using their own email address with “@crypton.co.jp” in the address line.
