An Official Hatsune Miku Guitar – Hatsune Miku x Electric Sound Products Confirmed
Electric Sound Products, a world leader in the creation of guitars, guitar parts and accessories, has dropped news about this new collaboration rather unexpectedly; this Japanese company specialising in the finest of musical products has confirmed that a contract has been made, and with it… an actual Hatsune Miku guitar has been born!
Here’s the trailer for the new product:
The announcement was made on ESP Guitars Japan’s official Twitter, and if the promo art for the product looks familiar, then you won’t be surprised to know that it was drawn by none other than iXima, illustrator of V4x Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin and Len! :
With those huge twintails and such a dynamic pose, Miku is certainly ready for business! Also notice the clear mint-coloured wisps of fabric along the sleeves and the hem of her skirt. This cool look is a perfect representation of the stunning craftsmanship of ESP!
Speaking of which, here’s what the guitar design looks like:
The concept
It was decided that they would base this guitar on ESP’s own STREAM-GT model with it’s characteristic flowing bodyline, and they’ve tried to make sure that Miku’s colour scheme and concept has been incorporated throughout! The concept here was to create “visual unity with the artist”, and that in itself took 6 months of the design process. It then apparently took another 6 months roughly before they’d ironed out any problems and improved the design and functionality to reach a level of satisfaction with the product. The STREAM-GT guitar is promoted as one which is compatible with pretty much any style and genre of music, making this instrument a must-have for musicians and of course – vocal synth users!

MAGICAL MIRAI 2020
What’s more, is that this guitar will be exhibited at MAGICAL MIRAI 2020 in Osaka this month! This guitar will be on display for visitors to see and learn all about the process that went into making such a stunning instrument!
You can find their booth (among others) by following this link: https://magicalmirai.com/2020/osaka/ex_sponsor.html.
ESP will be at booth “B”, under the name “株式会社イーエスピー”
**UPDATE ON NOVEMBER 22 2020**
The guitar is now slated to be available for purchase! There will be two versions of the guitar, but the main attraction is the “ESP STREAM-Miku-Custom Hatsune Miku Signature Model” which will cost ¥700,000, and comes with a certificate of authenticity (see the image on far left below). For people who like this guitar, but have a slightly smaller budget, there is also the “GrassRoots G-STREAM-Miku” for ¥78,000 (see bottom right). You’ll notice that there are subtle differences in design, whith the Grassroots version being more economical in terms of materials, but still a fantastic instrument!
For all of the specifications of each guitar, please check their official website here: https://espguitars.co.jp/artists/17779/.
And that’s certainly not all! The first 39 people who purchase the “ESP STREAM-Miku-Custom Hatsune Miku Signature Model” (left) will also receive a special hard protective case, featuring this collaboration’s promo art:
