Celebrate Piko Palooza with Vocarnival!
After two amazing events featuring Dex, Daina, and Ruby (which you can read about here), Vocarnival is closing the 2020 celebrations with a very special VOCALOID. Fans may remember that Piko was officially retired earlier this year, just months before his 10th birthday. So Vocarnival is holding Piko Palooza because we all still love Piko.
About the Event
Piko Palooza is an unofficial 10th anniversary celebration for Utatane Piko. The event consists of a charm contest, merch sales, an art zine, and song events. Everyone is welcome to participate no matter the skill level!
Merchandise
We currently have merchandise available for pre-order for Piko Palooza! If you happen to be a fan of Dex, Daina, or Ruby, their 5th anniversary merchandise is also available!
At the moment, there’s the “official” charm and stand available as well as the fan charm. As of writing, the fan charm has not been announced, however, we know some people definitely want the fan charm no matter who wins so we decided to open up pre-orders early for those people.
You can shop Piko Palooza and other Vocarnival event goods here. Charms are $9 USD, stands are $14 USD, and shipping is $8.50 USD flat rate to everywhere in the world. Pre-orders close December 12th so be sure to get them in soon!
Charm Contest
Speaking of the charm contest, voting is currently underway! You can vote for your favorite charm design here and the winner gets to be made in to a charm design for Piko Palooza! Voting closes December 5th.
Other Events
And last but not least are the events! As mentioned earlier, there’s an art zine, an original song event, and a cover song event. You can find rules for each event on their entry pages which you can find here.
About Vocarnival
Vocarnival is a fan-run event focused on celebrating the anniversaries of lesser loved vocal synths. We’re completely non-profit and sell the merch as a way for people to get merchandise of their favorite characters.
However, all art from the very designs used for the characters and even the logos are all commissioned. We get members of the fandom to draw all of our art and pay them for everything they do. We try to price merchandise as low as possible to make it accessible to everyone but we do have to try to break even as well so that we can continue to do these events without too much financial strain.
If these three events go well and we manage to not spend too much money out of pocket, we do plan to celebrate several birthdays next year. So please be sure to support us in supporting these characters if you can!
