RAGE x Project SEKAI 2020 Winter – A Tournament Awaits!
There’s plenty of Project SEKAI merch being released now that the game is in full swing (see the bottom of this article more more info!), but the RAGE Project SEKAI 2020 Winter powered by AQUOS is bringing us something else too – yes, that’s right, here we have a tournament with a cash prize! Has your interest been piqued yet?

Tournament information
This is a tournament arranged by RAGE, Japan’s largest e-sports event with a hefty cash prize, and this time, it’s centered around the mobile game Project SEKAI!
Prize: ¥1 million JPY
Aim: to score as many “PERFECTS” as possible in the assigned songs!
What you need to do:
>You’ll need to play the “MASTER” levels of the two assigned songs – Rettou Joutou and Roki.
>Songs for the later rounds will be announced at a later date.
>You need to use a unit made up of ONLY the specified characters (see below).
If you do this correctly within the duration of the tournament round, you’ll see this show up at the bottom of your screen (Tournament mark, Player ID and a “Real-time” record of your achievement) :
>Take a screenshot of this information and attach it to your entry
>The players with the highest amount of “PERFECT”s will advance to the next round.
>If multiple players have score the same amount of PERFECTs, you’ll be ranked in terms of time recorded. So, whoever got that amount of PERFECTs the earliest gets a higher place in the ranking
>If you get a higher score than the one you already submitted, you can submit a second entry.

Itinerary for the competition:
First qualifying round: November 22nd 2020 from 12:00 ~ November 24th 2020 12:00 JST
> To enter this round, you will need to submit your score results via the appropriate entry form.
>Advance notice about the second qualifying round is scheduled for November 26th at 18:00.
> Only a maximum of 500 players will advance to the second round
Second qualifying round: November 28th 2020 from 12:00 ~ November 29th 23:59
>To successfully participate in this round, you will need to submit your score results via the appropriate entry form.
>Advance notice about the quarter-final is scheduled for December 3rd at 18:00
> Only a maximum of 25 players will advance to the quarter-finals
Quarter-finals / Semi-finals / Final: December 13th 2020
>To successfully participate in this round, you will need to be able to travel to Tokyo to compete in-studio (no spectators will be allowed, unfortunately).
>Please bring your own headphones to the venue.
>In the quarter-finals, the 25 players will be reduced to 10 for the semi-finals.
>In the semi-finals, 10 players will be reduced to 2 for the finals
>The final two players will battle it out to become the overall tournament winner!
>The “Score Bonus Calculations” are as follows: PERFECT = 3 points, GREAT = 2 points, GOOD =1 points, BAD/MISS= 0 points. Your overall score will be calculated based on your results translated into this system after playing one of the assigned songs (only for the in-studio rounds).
※Only entrants who have successfully passed each round will be sent advance information about the next rounds. These details will be sent to the email address you provide in your entry submission form.
※All of the above information is still subject to change at any point.
Rules for participation
- Only players with a character rank of at least Rank 15 will be elligible to participate
- Only players who’ve unlocked “MASTER” for the assigned songs shall be elligible to participate
- Entrants between 16 and 18 years of age at the time of participation MUST have the appropriate consent forms signed and submitted to the organisers at the point of the quarter-finals.
- Entrants below the age of 16 must have said forms signed and submitted, but must also be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the sake of the tournament held at the studio in Tokyo.
- A form of ID must be presented at the point of the physical quarter-finals.
- Participants MUST be able to converse fluently in Japanese, for the sake of form submissions and the potential for going to the physical event in Tokyo.
- Participants must NOT be affiliated in any way with any of the organising bodies.
- Items such as non-slip mats, glove and fingertip protection are allowed to be used, but anything other than this is prohibited.

**UPDATE ON DECEMBER 7 2020**
The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for the RAGE Project SEKAI 2020 Winter Tournament will be shown via livestream on December 13th 2020 at 18:00 JST. It can be watched either via YouTube or OPENREC! . For the quarterfinals and semifinals, there will be two songs out of the following 15 chosen by a lottery to play:
- Rolling Girl (lvl 31) / Teo (lvl 31) / Doctor Funk = Beat (lvl 32) / Hibana – Reloaded – (lvl 32) / Dappou Rock (lvl 31) / Bouken no Sho ga Kiemashita (lvl 32) / Sekai wa Mada Hajimattesurainai (lvl 29) / Ura-Omote Lovers (lvl 30) / Stella (lvl 30) / Junky Night Town Orchestra (lvl 30) / Yobanashi Deceive (lvl 30) / Dance Robot Dance (lvl 29) / Inochi ni Kirawareteiru (lvl 29) / GimmexGimme (lvl 29) / Next Nest (lvl 29).
For the final, the first song chosen was 初音ミクの消失 / The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku (lvl.33 on MASTER). The second song will be a new song announced at the time of the finals.
