Ashnikko Remix “Daisy 2.0” Featuring Hatsune Miku Released
Ashnikko, a popular American rapper and songwriter, has come out with a new version of her single “Daisy”, and this second one features our beloved Hatsune Miku rapping alongside her at various points in the song. Seeing as Ashnikko is known for her very own blue pigtail hairstyle, it should be no surprise that this collab was on the cards!
Daisy 2.0
The original video for Daisy was released on August 7th 2020, and 2.0 was released 23 December 2020, which gave the production team a good few months to hone their implementation of Miku, including any changes made to the lyrics, and even create a brand new animated MV for the latter!
In the video, Miku’s look is styled simply, with her 3D model wearing her V4x design, courtesy of illustrator iXima. Ashnikko and Miku can been seen dancing in what appears to be an MMD style animated MV, contrasting with the original which features the real-life Ashnikko in the flesh (albeit with plenty of computer generated aspects).
The two singers are “twinning” in their blue outfits and cute, matching pigtails while also synching their dance moves!

Viwers are speculating on which voicebank is being used by Miku- some suggest her V4x bank, which would make sense judging by the model which was used for the sake of the animation!
The potential of seeing Miku featured by American artists and in more music videos outside of the vocal synth community is always exciting! Considering that musical artists such as Lady Gaga have boasted their love of Miku in the past (so far as to even have Miku famously opening Gaga’s ARTPOP Ball tour concerts in 2014), we should certainly keep our ears to the ground for more news about Hatsune Miku’s global musical takeover!

It’s… not great. The flow is good, the music is good, but the lyrics are very much not good. They seem amateur, like someone who’s just starting out with songwriting. (Well, if this is a new artist, then maybe that actually is the case.) Also, the video is pretty bad. Was this done in MMD? I mean even if it were, that’s not really an excuse, since MMD can produce great results if you know what you’re doing. Even if they themselves didn’t know what they were doing, what they *should’ve* done is hire someone who did. That’s how these things work.
Thank you for your comment.
I think by far this is my favorite aspect of working and reporting on content in the Vocaloid community–the sheer variety and range of quality from all over the world. From what we found out over the course of our research, Ashnikko is a relatively new artist and they do not work with voice-synths. This seems to be a “let’s-try-this-out-for-fun” sort of thing. Which is really exciting to see. Over here in the United States, it’s uncommon to see Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid being used outside of the anime/manga community, so we were all enthused about that. We also noticed Ashnikko has a unique style when it comes to their music, that I’m sure you’ve picked up on. A sort of messy, chaotic style that gets woven in with hip-hop and rap. The use of Miku and her MMD form is definitely an extension of that syle.
I’m glad you took the time to read our article and to comment on it.
