Hatsune Miku x Don Quijote Collab Starts This April
Nearly anyone who’s been to Japan will know the iconic Don Quijote stores – filled to the brim with anything your otaku self could need! The store is known as “Donki” by fans, which comes from the Japanese way of writing the name – ドン・キホーテ / Don Kihoute, and now the popular shop has revealed its plans for a collab with the piapro characters!

Collaboration Concept
This year’s collab is meant to feature Hatsune Miku alongside Kagamine Rin and Len wearing stylish fashion looks! If you thought you recognised the art style here, you’d be right, since the main visual was created by none other than LAM (known for doing the illustrations for the song GIMMExGIMME from from HachiojiP (八王子P) and Giga, and more recently for working with with Kanaria on songs ENVY BABY and MIRA.
Here is the main visual being used for the collab:
Theme song for the collaboration
- Song title: キュリオ・シティ / Curio City
- Lyrics & music by てにをは / Teniwoha
- Illustrated by LAM
Comments from LAM:
After hearing “Curio City” for the first time, I drew the first thing that came to mind for Miku, Rin and Len. Brought by curiosity, they three wander around the mysterious city in search of an unseen answer.
It was really fun [to draw this], since it was my first collaboration with Teniwoha!
For anyone who’s not familiar with Teniwoha, they’re a musician and novellist who’s created a variety of VOCALOID songs up to the present day. They’ve also collaborated with famous faces such as Ado (known for the song “Usseewa“) as well as ナナヲアカリ / Nanawoakari (potentially most famous for working with Eve on the song “Instant Heaven“).
Comments from Teniwoha:
For this collaboration with the people at Don Quijote, I produced the song “Curio City” with the theme of “Curiosity”. It’s said that “curiosity killed the cat”, but on the other hand, curiosity can also quell anxiety and fear, so it’s something that could be seen as both a miracle cure and a dangerous drug.
Even if this song is rather tense, I hope that it can be good background music for people looking to buy something new [at Don Quijote], or to even inspire people finding their next step in life (or cats, for that matter!)
