Snow Miku no Jikan Announcements: Magical Mirai 2021 First Details, Miku Chronicle
On April 28th, 2021 starting at 7:00 PM (JST), Good Smile Company held their latest biannual Snow Miku no Jikan (a.k.a. “Snow Miku Time”) livestream, sharing the latest information about Snow Miku, and other news going on in Hatsune Miku’s world.
This time, not only did we learn about the finalists in the Snow Miku 2022 design contest – which you can read about and vote on here – but they also revealed the first ever details about Magical Mirai 2021, some more details about Hatsune Miku Chronicle, and new figures to look forward to!
Watch the livestream archive below, and continue reading for a summary of announcements!
Hatsune Miku Chronicle
First came some long-awaited information about what we’ll see at Hatsune Miku Chronicle, the upcoming art exhibit featuring Miku illustrations, videos, 3DCG models and more used for her works throughout the years.
Main Visual Statue
The first major announcement was that the main visual created by Rella will be made into a life-size statue to be display at Hatsune Miku Chronicle! Just the thought of Rella’s art being used for a life-size Miku statue is enough to give one goosebumps, so look forward to its reveal!
Hatsune Miku if
Then came one of the announcements that perhaps no one was expecting.
Revealed was what they are calling “Hatsune Miku if,” an unused design for Miku by KEI from before they decided that she would have twintails. They ask “What if we didn’t choose to use a design with twintails?” and show a silhouette for what looks like a ponytail Miku!
“Hatsune Miku if” will have her own corner at Hatsune Miku Chronicle that will be divided into three parts with rotating content between them.
What’s more, it’s even been announced that “Hatsune Miku if” already has a figure being created for her!
Below is a sneak peak at her from behind, showing that, yes, she indeed wears her hair in a ponytail with her single ribbon tied into the shape of cat ears.
Considering how fans were asked to come up with their own Miku design based on her established profile as part of an official piapro contest with winners being shown at Hatsune Miku Chronicle, it perhaps isn’t too far fetched to think that we would see a similar design from KEI themselves at the exhibit.
Look forward to the full reveal of “Hatsune Miku if” and her related merchandise!
Magical Mirai 2021 Announcements
Next came brand new announcements about Magical Mirai 2021!
First, it was re-confirmed that Magical Mirai 2021 will be held at INTEX Osaka (Osaka) in October, and then at Makuhari Messe (Tokyo) in November this year!
Magical Mirai 2021 Theme
Then came the new announcements made for the annual Miku event!
Every Magical Mirai has a different theme to it, whether it’s “futuristic circus” or “MATSURI / festival.” And now we learn that the 2021 theme will be “Märchen Fantasy,” or Fairy Tale Fantasy!
Theme Song and Main Visual Creators
But wait, there’s more! Next, the creators behind the main visual and theme song for Magical Mirai 2021 were revealed!
Supplying the illustration to serve as the main visual will be 左 / Hidari!
And serving as the composer for the Magical Mirai 2021 theme song is cosMo@暴走P!
If something about this pairing sounds familiar, that’s because these two talented creators worked together before on songs such as 初音ミクの激唱 / Hatsune Miku no Gekishou (The Intense Singing of Hatsune Miku)! It will be interesting to see how these two titans of the VOCALOID world will interpret the “Fairy Tale Fantasy” theme, and how their reuniting like this will pan out!
KAITO Feature
Finally, we received confirmation for something that we’ve all been looking forward to for a long time – for 15 years to be exact: there will be a major KAITO feature at this year’s event!
Much like how Magical Mirai 2020 had a major MEIKO 15th Anniversary presence, 2021 will be celebrating KAITO’s 15th anniversary in some big ways!
Already confirmed is his life-size statue will be complete and displayed at both Magical Mirai 2021 at Osaka in November, and at Tokyo in December. Fans may remember how the creation of KAITO and MEIKO’s statues were funded through a successful ACTNOW crowdfunding campaign, and now we will finally see the project come to its conclusion later this year! Look forward to learning more of and seeing KAITO’s statue!
It was also announced that they plan to have an official KAITO 15th Anniversary theme song composed as well! MEIKO got one in the form of きみとぼくのレゾナンス / Kimi to Boku no Resonance (Our Resonance) by 斜め上P / NanameueP, a song that countless people have said made them emotional remembering what MEIKO means to them. How wonderful it would be for KAITO to receive the same treatment!
Stay tuned as more about the KAITO feature and more about Magical Mirai 2021 gets revealed!

Mikudayo Anniversary
Can you believe that it has been almost ten whole years since Mikudayo made her debut as a mascot character for Hatsune Miku and Future Stars Project mirai for the Nintendo 3DS on September 17, 2011? It’s true, and that means that this upcoming September 17 will be her 10th anniversary!
In order to celebrate, however, they asked fans for proposals on how to get people excited for the big day! That’s right, we’ll be ringing in Mikudayo’s tenth anniversary following the proposals from fans on how to celebrate!
Do you have an ideas for how to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Mikudayo?
