Washin Palette’s 70th Anniversary Illustration Contest Results
The results are finally in, and we know which illustrations will be used for the promotional art for Washin Pallette’s new Hatsune Miku-themed eyeglasses! This isn’t any old pair of glasses though, as we mentioned in our previous post – these are part of the “adatto” brand of eyewear, which have a rather unique and cute shape! When worn by Miku, the cuteness is upped tenfold! Let’s see the winners, and find out how to get your own pair of Miku glasses.

The winners
Initially there were only supposed to be two winners, but considering the amount of amazing entries (all of which you can see here), they decided to add an “Excellence Award” category to compensate:
Adopted pieces – overall winners (x2 designs)
Ilustrated by 黎(クロイ) / Kuroi
Note from the organiser(s):
We think that this is a piece with a very gentle atmosphere. The way the collaboration glasses have been faithfully drawn, as well as how the costume matches perfectly with the background all fits the concept of “Adatto” which is why we chose this piece to win.
Illustrated by Tooma:
Here, we feel that Miku exudes a cool aura. It was chosen to win because of the way the reflection of the glasses was drawn, and the pose shows off the glasses perfectly, among other things.
The above two designs will be used to decorate the boxes for the glasses, and will be also used for making glasses cleaning cloths!
Outstanding performance award – (x3 works)
Illustrated by あんこ。/ Anko
This is a piece which shows off wonderful Japanese-style look for Miku. It was chosen because of how perfectly the glasses and kimono work together.
Illustrated by フルタミツキ / Furutamitski
We think this is a wonderful piece which is colourful and gives you a feeling of happiness We chose it because we felt it perfectly encapsulated the feeling of celebration of Washin Optical’s 70th anniversary.
Illustration by 葉桜ちこり / Hazakura Chikori
This artwork conveys a feeling of enjoyment – that feeling of happiness of a girl wearing her favourite glasses is perfectly conveyed here, which is why we chose to accept it as a winner.
The above three designs will be used to design some more glasses cleaning cloths that we should be able to buy in the near future!
If you’re a glasses-wearer like myself, and would like to have your very own Miku-themed glasses, then your wish shall soon be granted! Keep your eyes out for updates as to what the glasses and goods will look like!
