Senbonzakura Collab Cafe Now Open in Shinjuku & Shibuya
This month we, alongside many fans and creatives across the world, celebrated the tenth anniversary of song Senbonzakura featuring Hatsune Miku! One of the most iconic VOCALOID songs of all time, and Kurousa-P’s most notable work, the song can be found in Project DIVA games, was of course added to “Project SEKAI Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku” and cosplays from the song’s MV remain firm favourites of fans far and wide. Now, as part of a few celebrations happening this month, we’ve been treated to a cafe collab, courtesy of Collaboration Cafe Click!
If you haven’t heard/watched the original MV for Senbonzakura before, then make sure to check it out here:

Menu – Shinjuku
Food and desserts:
Len’s favourite! Fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth Omelette Rice – ¥1,540
- Consists of chicken fried rice, omelette, white sauce, milk, pasta shaped like sakura and edible paper with Len printed on it.
MEIKO’s recommendation – Sakura Imperial Capital Napolitan – ¥1,430
- Napolitan-style pasta, sunny-side up fried egg, mini wieners in the shape of octopuses, ham and edible paper with MEIKO printed on it
KAITO’s Creation : Special recipe hot blue pilaf rice- ¥1,430
- Prawn pilaf (pilau) rice, white sauce, milk, blue food colouring, sliced cheese, carrots, broccoli and edible paper featuring KAITO.
Miku’s Thousand Cherry Blossoms – Unfurling sweet waffles – ¥1,430
- Waffles, strawberry swiss roll, cherry, pink whipped cream, regular whipped cream, strawberry sauce, silver dragee sweets, mint leaf, sakura-shaped sweets, and a monaka (wafer) in the shape of a sakura, with Miku on it.
- Note: the name of the food includes an obselete katakana letter for “wi”, so instead of writing “sweet” as just スイート, they put スヰート instead.
Butterfly PuRin a la mode? – ¥1,320
- Purin (Japanese style custard dessert with caramel on top), cornflakes, fruits cut into balls, in a bowl, cherry, regular, pink and mint whipped cream, big and small silver dragees and a monaka (wafer) in the shape of a butterfly, with Rin on it.
- Note: The name pun here is a mix of the word “purin” and Rin’s name. The title also uses the term “a la mode (?)”, which could reflect the song’s theme of Japan’s Westernisation, since the term is typically used in French to refer to to a dessert served with ice cream on top. But considering this dessert doesn’t have ice-cream, that might explain why the question mark is included.
Luka’s Milk Hall – Speciality Siberia Parfait – ¥1,320
- Siberia (cake made from layers of sponge cake and sweet bean paste), chocolate sauce, corn flakes, sliced strawberries, whole strawberry, colourful marshmallows, whipped cream, a sprig of mint and a monaka in the shape of a heart, with Luka printed on it.
- Note: The name of this menu item has the term “みるくほうる” (Milk Hall) in it. Milk Halls (or Milk Bars) during the Meishi / Taisho periods, were places serving milk and simple accompanying foods, such as cakes like the “Siberia” cake, which became popular as a result of said bars becoming so commonplace. In the original and Project DIVA MVs for Senbonzakura, you can actually see the said Milk Hall (although the text is back-to-front, saying “るうほくるみ”), and we’d assume it’s where Luka’s character presumably works.
Drinks – ¥935 each
Mikuream Sakura Soda
- Cherry blossom flavour syrup, vanilla ice cream, cherries, whipped cream, konpeito, carbonated water and a monaka (wafer) with Miku printed on it.
- Note: the name here is a pun of “Miku” + “Cream”
Luka’s pink cola
- Sakura syrup, cola, slices of lemon, slices of orange, a “cooktown orchid” edible flower and a monaka with Luka’s face printed on it.
Fancy Rinkuru
- Pirukuru (a probiotic/fermented milk drink, similar to Yakult), whipped cream, heart-shaped sugar pieces, small silver dragges and a monaka with Rin printed on it.
Len’s Black Tea Soda
- Sakura syrup, darjeeling tea, slices of lemon, maraschino cherries, a thin plastic pick with a sakura adornment, carbonated water and a monaka with Len printed on it.
※Note: Order any menu item and you’ll receive a free coaster (1 of 12) at random! Coasters will be distributed as one per menu item.
Menu – Shibuya
Food – ¥1,188 each
Miku – Senbonzakura Kagura Parfait
- Cookies, pink whipped cream, matcha swiss roll cake, shiratama (rice flour dumplings), matcha ice cream matcha sauce and whipped cream
- Note: “Kagura” is the name of a type of Shinto ritual ceremonial dance. During part of it, the priestess will hold a “gohei” – a wooden wand with paper streamers coming out of the tip – exactly like the pink one Miku uses during the MV for Senbonzakura.
Rin – Parfait of mysterious words
- Cookies, whipped cream, cocoa rings cereal, castella cake, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Luka – Parfait of Maiden’s Feelings
- Cookies, pink whipped cream, ice cream mochi, slices of peach, strawberry sauce, whipped cream and strawberry ice cream.

Did you know…?
Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that the character names above have been written in a rather complex looking letters compared to what we’re used to. This isn’t anything new though, since previous Senbonzakura merchandise did a similar thing by using more obscure kanji to convey their names, reflecting the theme of the music video! This is one of the few times you see even MEIKO and KAITO’s names rendered in such a way. The names are written as follows:
Miku: 未來 (Meaning: “mi” from “future” and “ku” from “to come”)
Rin: 鈴 (Meaning: “bell”)
Len: 錬 (Meaning: tempering, refine, drill, train, polish)
Luka: 流歌 (Meaning: “Ru” from “to flow” and “ka” from “song”)
MEIKO: 鳴子 (Meaning: “mei” from “to chirp” and “ko” from “child”)
KAITO: 海斗 (Meaning: “kai” from “ocean” and “tou”)
