Synthesizer V AI ROSA Crowdfunding Has Begun
The day that many fans of ROSA and Synthesizer V enthusiasts have been anticipating for years has finally arrived: the crowdfunding campaign for Synthesizer V AI ROSA is now live and accepting donations!
Previously released as a CeVIO AI Talk bank in December, 2021, thanks to her previous crowdfunding campaign that just barely reached its goal in time, ROSA has come a long way, appearing in many live performances like -Planet Station- STAGE.3, CeVIO PARTY 2022, and VVV MUSIC LIVE!
However, in each of these shows, ROSA either: 1) only did MCing, or 2) sang with the voice of her voice provider, Shirayuki. That’s because she did not have her Synthesizer V voice during the time of those shows. But those days will soon come to an end, with the help of fans, that is!
ROSA’s creator, HirotoP, acknowledged that at the time of her first crowdfunding, ROSA wasn’t very well known. What’s more, the crowdfunding was only for her CeVIO talk bank, resulting in overall little support, especially from outside of Japan where character talk banks in general don’t see widespread use. But things are now quite different. ROSA’s CeVIO bank has now had more than 2 years worth of use in videos uploaded online, and her many appearances in live vocal synth concerts have further grown her fan base. Furthermore, this time around, the crowdfund is for the development of a Synthesizer V AI song bank. And with both character song banks and the Synthesizer V engine itself enjoying great popularity outside of Japan, HirotoP expects this crowdfund to be much more successful!

Who is ROSA?
ROSA is the younger sister of VOCALOID CUL and VOICEVOX WhiteCUL. She’s a cheerful and mischievous 15-year-old high school freshman who loves strawberry daifuku. She’s 152 cm tall.
About the Project
Reaching the initial goal will confirm development of the song voice bank Synthesizer V AI ROSA, and development of Uta ROSA’s outfit.
Reaching the stretch goal will confirm creation of new official illustrations and tachie (standing character reference) for ROSA and WhiteCUL. An official, original song for ROSA will also be created.
Development is underway with a scheduled release in spring 2024.

What is Synthesizer V?
The Synthesizer V series is a line of singing vocal synthesis software developed by Dreamtonics with both a powerful voice processing engine as well as an intuitive and flexible user interface. With it, one can easily create original songs just by writing a melody line and inputting lyrics. Their voice banks are capable of singing thanks to song voice synthesis technology equipped with DNN (deep neural network). The Synthesizer V series’ editor software, Synthesizer V Studio, is compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux. It is also usable in VST3 and AU plugin formats.
What is Synthesizer V AI ROSA?
She is the singing voice bank created from the voice of cosplay live actress, Shirayuki, capable of extensive and accent-rich expressions with voice styles ranging from soft and sweet to low and powerful, or cool and solid.
By using Synthesizer V Studio Pro, one can utilize ROSA’s (planned) CUTE, FUN, POWER, SOLID or NORMAL vocal styles, or any combination of them, to make a variety of possible singing expressions.
ROSA will come with the song voice synthesis software Synthesizer V Studio Basic so that users can create songs even with a purchase of just her standalone product.
Furthermore, by using ROSA’s song voice bank with Synthesizer V Studio Pro, her range of expression will grow even more rich. They are compatible OS are Windows, macOS and Linux.
Synthesizer V AI is Dreamtonics’ DNN-equipped song voice synthesis technology. Song voices created with Synthesizer V AI can sing just as naturally as a human being, and can be edited to the most minute detail to sing like a real singer in any music style. What’s more, it is optimized to run on even the most basic devices so that one does not need any special hardware to operate it.
There are two options available when editing:
・High-quality mode, using full-size DNN to reach the utmost limits of technological potential
・High-speed mode, using a downsized model and speeding up rendering
AI versions of song voice banks use Synthesizer V Studio Pro and are capable of even more powerful functions.
● Multilingual singing:
Ability to sing in languages other than the ones that they were recorded in. For example, a voice bank recorded in Japanese can sing in English, Chinese or Cantonese.
● Vocal styles:
Vocal style function for swapping different characteristics of different singing styles. You can change ROSA’s voice tone to match the style and setting of the song.
● AI retake:
Retake ROSA’s singing pitch or voice characteristics with just a single button press. Easily generate your ideal voice expression by using AI retake for any phrase that you aren’t quite satisfied with.
● Rap singing:
Able to rap in English or Chinese. Recreate the song flow particular to rap.

Making ROSA sing has been an important goal since the outset of the project. It took a long time, but now, thanks to the support of our sales and development partners, Internet Co., Ltd., AHS Co., Ltd., and Synthesizer V AI developer Dreamtonics Co., Ltd., we have carried out initial development, and are now able to let fans hear her actual voice mid-development.
Along with making ROSA talk and sing, we consider the ROSA project to be something that fans, creators, and we at the management team all produce together. This time around, we received many voices of support from fans overseas and want to make it so that they can participate, too. Thank you for your support of ROSA!
※ Brief History of Izumi Hiroto (HirotoP)
Produced and directed the first ever on-air VOCALOID TV program, VocaloREVOLUTION!, which aired in January 2010. He created the program’s new original character, CUL (name based on the word CULTURE) and organized the creative group CULNOZA. On December 22nd, 2011, VOCALOID3 CUL (voice provider: Kitamura Eri) was released by Internet Co., Ltd. In 2012 and on, he served as the MC for the VOCAREVO Official Livestream! series on Niconico Channel and YouTube Live. In 2020, he served as the voice provider for REV, creating him for both the singing synthesis software DeepVocal, and the talk synthesis software TALQu. On March 3rd, 2021, he founded ZAN-SHIN Co., Ltd. and was inaugurated as its CCO.
In March, 2021, he announced ROSA. In June that same year, he started the crowdfund for development of her CeVIO AI Talk Voice. They raised over ￥8,000,000 JPY, and Internet Co., Ltd. released her later that year on December 17.
