Hatsune Miku x Red Feather Community Chest Illustration & Song Contest Results
We first heard about these particular Red Feather Community Chest competitions back in April this year, and we’re delighted to bring you the results of them now!
As mentioned previously, the theme for the promotional posters was “FOR SMILE“, and the feedback for the submissions was really positive! The main comment given was that the illustrations entered were “very colourful, and made you smile just by looking at them”, which sounds pretty fitting if you ask me!

Title: あなたに笑顔を！ (A smile for you!)

Comments: The use of bright pop colours is impressive. The smiles are all slightly different, and when you see characters with different smiles, you feel like smiling too. We have adopted this work because we hope that people who see this work will be energized.

Title: みんなでえがく笑顔の未来 (The smiling face of the future drawn by everyone)

Comments: This work, in which a smiling Miku is drawn with her friends, is a wonderful work that reminds us of the importance of working together and the magnitude of the power created by everyone’s cooperation, which we feel makes it a wonderful piece.

Sapporo City Community Chest Committee Award
Title: やさしさ (Kindness)
Art by milkteaいちまるいち (milktea one zero one)
Comments: Miku’s gentle smile is gently wrapped in red feathers, and it is a wonderful work that conveys warmth and “gentleness”. It is also perfect for the illustration recruiting theme of “FOR SMILE”.

(This artist was also one of the winners in the Sakura Miku x Animate Cafe menu designing competition!)
Comments: We thought that Snow Miku and Yukine’s smiles were wonderful in the snow dome where the night view of Hokkaido shines.
We have chosen it with the hope that thede two faces will ease the anxiety that across the world.

Sapporo City Community Chest Committee Award
Title: 「年雪ミク＆ユキネ」Catch GET!! “Snow Miku and Yukine” Catch GET!!

Comments: These two cute designs of Snow Miku and Yukine have red feathers, and although they got caught in a crane game, they look as if they are waiting to meet everyone, making this a charming entry.

Music Contest
Song title: ユニバース・ダイバー (Universe Diver)
Song by みーに (Miini)
Comments: This is a wonderful piece with glittering music that reminds us of the universe and Miku’s bright singing voice. The lyrics, “You are not alone” “Because we sing together”, creates a feeling of connection between people, so that even with sadness or pain, we can hope for a future where we can smile together. We have decided to choose this one with the hope that we can have a future full of smiles.

Comments: The soft melody and Miku’s pleasant singing voice creates an impressive piece. We thought that the hearts of everyone who listened to this song would light up and help people feel warm and happy. We adopted this with the hope that we will all be able to gently smile and support the important people around us.
Song title: キズナのカタチ (Kizuna no Katachi)

Comments: We felt that the fast paced music and Miku’s powerful singing voice would cheer on anyone who listened to it. I think that a heart of compassion that reaches out for someone’s smile will lead to a future full of smiles and strengthen the bond between people. We decided on this one with the hope that our town will be a place full of smiles.

Comments: This is an impressive and wonderful work, consisting of an exciting song and Miku’s positive voice.
We felt the importance of encouraging and supporting each other, even when apart, and things are tough, “the most important thing is laughter”. We have accepted this with the hope that this colourful song of hope will reach someone under the same sky.
The above 4 selected works will be used in the region where the prefecture-based community chest society participating in the collaboration is located. In addition, they will be added to the SONOCA program, but will be limited to Hokkaido. The cards will be handed out to a certain amount of those who cooperated in fundraising for the charity!
**UPDATE ON OCTOBER 21 2020**
Now an actual event has been announced, where all of the winning artwork from this competition will be displayed, and a variety of merchandise will be sold for charity! You can check out our coverage of the event here.
Overall, all of the illustrations shown here look stunning, and it’s nice that people have been able to help this charity organisation, which is one that aims to help those in need, especially during times like this, as Coronavirus continues to be a problem across the world.
