Project SEKAI Costume Design Campaign Round 3 Announced
As far as we can tell, the Project SEKAI costume design competitions have been going well, with plenty of fabulously creative designs making the rounds on Twitter, and before we even have the official results of Round 2, here’s the announcement of Round 3! Keep reading to find out how you can join in!
Details of the competition
- Submission dates: from December 1st until December 31st 2020 at 17:00 JST
- Theme: 魔法 (Mahou) / “Magic”
- Characters allowed: any of the unit characters in Project SEKAI are allowed to act as a “model” for your outfit design.
- Number of winners: 2 (one design for the male characters based on the theme, and one design for the female characters based on the themes).
Winners will…
- Have their design added to the game as part of the Premium Mission Pass* in April 2021 (the official Project SEKAI blog states “April 2021”, but since the winners for the second competition are supposed to be for April, it is possible that this is a mistake on their part, and they actually mean MAY here, so please keep this in mind!).
- Win an Amazon giftcard worth ¥3000 JPY
- Have their name featured in the game credits
*Please note that the Premium Mission Pass is a pay-to-access feature. It costs 1960 yen for the whole month, and gives you “paid” crystals (x1800) and Virtual Coins (x1800). To unlock the outfit for Premium Mission Pass, you’ll need to earn approximately 5000 Live Points before the end of the month. For other colourways of the featured outfit, you’ll need to earn 6000, 7000 and 8000 Live Points before the end of the given month.
- Amount of submissions allowed: one entrant can enter as many times as they like, but only one entry can be chosen to win at the end of the competition overall.
- If you’d like to make multiple entries, please post them as separate tweets, each with the appropriate tags (see below).
- Tags: whatever tags you use, make sure to include both the 「#プロセカ衣装デザイン」 and 「#魔法」 tags when you post to Twitter, otherwise your entry won’t be counted.
- Please make sure to include your Twitter handle somewhere in the image, or your entry won’t count.
- Please specify the title of your outfit design, either on the art itself or in the text of the tweet as you post it.
- Your entry must NOT have been published anywhere else or entered into any other previous competitions.
- Copyright belongs to the illustrator, but the organiser is in charge of management of the design.
- Anything posted after the entry deadline will NOT be eligible for participation.
- Anyone under 18 years old needs to get a parent/guardian’s permission before entering this competition.
- If you are selected to win, all following correspondence will be in Japanese. Hence why you will most probably need to have a reasonable knowledge of the language if you decide to enter the competition.
Other illustration notes
- You can format your submission however you want, but you need to include views of your design from the front, back and side.
- Please indicate whether your design is for men or women somewhere in the design.
- Please do not include any designs for hairstyles in your entry, since these outfits are intended to be worn by multiple characters.
- Hair ornaments, however, are perfectly acceptable, so long as they are placed above the ears.
- Your work may have to be edited somewhat prior to being used in-game, because certain aspects might not be able to be implemented with 3D modelling, so please keep this in mind.
Results are said to be announced in early January 2020 and the winners should be contacted via Twitter. Results will also be announced on the Project SEKAI blog around the same time. If you’d like some inspiration for your own submission, you can check out the #プロセカ衣装デザイン tag on Twitter, and you can check out the winners of round 1 of the Project SEKAI costume design competition! As of writing the winners of the second design competition haven’t been announced yet. but we’ll update you when we get the details.
Good luck to everyone planning on entering! We can’t wait to see all of your designs!
