Project SEKAI: 2nd Closed Beta Test Announced
The second closed beta test for Project SEKAI Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku has been announced! The developers received a lot of feedback from players for the first closed beta test, especially in regards to the rhythm game system, so they are making that the focus of the second closed beta test.
Improvements on the 1st Closed Beta Test
Following the first closed beta test, many aspects of the gameplay have been improved:
- Successful note taps now allow for more leeway for tapping to the left and right of note positions
- Long notes and sliders now allow for more leeway on the timing of their release points
- Flicks easier to score on
- The delay between note taps and their sound effects has been reduced
- The game has been greatly improved for play on Android devices
The dev team is always striving to make Project Sekai a rhythm game that anyone from beginners to experts can play. So this time around, in order to carefully fine-tune the game to players of various skills levels, they’re accepting 100 testers each for three skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. See the below Application Form section for details.
Posting on Social Media
When it comes to posting gameplay from the second closed beta test to social media, only still screenshots from the rhythm gameplay screen are allowed. Anything outside of rhythm gameplay is not allowed for testers to post about, save for select media outlets and game staff.
Furthermore, the development team encourages testers to share their thoughts and opinions on the experience on Twitter with the hashtag #プロジェクトセカイCBT.
Limitations in the Second Closed Beta Test
As always, testers should keep in mind that some aspects of the game in the second closed beta test can change before the official release.
- Testers can play the game up to the end of the opening sequence
- Only 8 songs will be select-able for live play
- Some functions – like the gacha system – will not be available
- Testers will not be able to purchase anything that requires spending resources, such as crystal shop items
- The spoken parts for the virtual singers during the tutorial will be partly voiced. Expect them to be fully voiced for the official release
- Some area conversations are not yet voiced
