Project SEKAI Updates, January 21, 2021: Event “Color of Myself!”, Collaborations, MORE MORE JUMP! Story Theater

A series of new updates have come to Project SEKAI Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku starting on January 21, bringing in lots of content that will please fans of MORE MORE JUMP! So if you stan Minori, Haruka, Airi and/or Shizuku, this is your week!

Read on for a summary of what SEKAI players can now enjoy and look forward to!

“Another Vocal” Additions

The voice cast has been hard at work recording new Another Vocal versions of recent songs. Here’s what players can exchange their character Vocal Cards for in the game’s Music Shop!

Game Collaborations

Then came a surprise announcement on January 20 that Project SEKAI would be collaborating with no less than three other rhythm games – Ongeki R.E.D., CHUNITHM PARADISE, and maimai Delux Splash – and all at the same time!

During the collab corner, Hirose Daisuke appeared as a guest to explain some of the collaboration content. Here are some of the main points:

  • Vivid BAD SQUAD and 25-ji, Night Code de. will collaborate with maimai
  • The Project SEKAI region opened in the game on January 21
  • 自傷無色 / Jishou Mushoku (Self-Inflicted Achromatic) and 劣等上等 / Rettou Joutou (BRING IT ON) will be added. Watch them played here and here!
  • By selecting the Project SEKAI region, players can get the characters as tour members, as well as get a nameplates with all the Virtual Singer characters on it, and a frame with Miku and Ichika by completing the region
  • Leo/need and MORE MORE JUMP! will collaborate with Ongeki
  • From January 21 at 7:00 AM through February 17 at 11:59 PM, players can acquire cards featuring the ProSEKA characters, and print them out in real life
  • ツギハギスタッカート / Tsugihagi Staccato (Patchwork Staccato) will be playable in the game (see it in action here), as will a new song from Leo/need that is making its debut in Ongeki first before Project SEKAI!
  • Players can guess what this song is by tweeting their guesses with the hashtag #プロセカ新曲当てクイズ
  • The hint is “A song from an artist associated with numbers.“
  • Hirose-san also provided another hint: “The title is six characters long“
  • 1 winner will be selected from among the participants to receive a full set of collaboration cards!
  • And of course the song turned out to be タイムマシン / Time Machine!
  • The song’s original Virtual Singer version will be playable in Ongeki until it becomes available in Project SEKAI
  • As for who will sing the Sekai version, that will be announced on the January 25 Wondershow Channel livesetream

New Event: “Color of Myself!”

And now we get to the main in-game content for this week. The latest event titled “Color of Myself!” is now live! Fans who have been waiting for a Shizuku-centered event story, your patience is now being rewarded!

Always seen as the pinnacle of perfection by her fans, how will Shizuku appear when the “real” her is shown to fans during MORE MORE JUMP! livestreams, and how will she deal with it? Find out by earning Event Points and unlocking this special event story!

Furthermore, continuing the trend from the previous event in which MEIKO was introduced in the Classroom Sekai, the Stage Sekai is now getting a new member in the form of Megurine Luka! Be sure to read the story and learn about the pink-haired piapro character’s idol debut!

New Song Coming

Though not yet available for play in the game, we know from the previous livestream that a new song by 40mP for MORE MORE JUMP! will be featured in the event. It will likely be one of those cases in which the song becomes available right as the event concludes.

The previous time this happened, the song came with a 3DMV that was performed during the event’s After Live, which we were shown glimpses of in videos showcasing character outfits. So if history repeats itself, the videos in the above tweets could be glimpses into the next 3DMV!

  • Commentary from 40mP during the Wondershow Channel #3 Livestream:
    – “Using my specialty midtempo band -like sound, I created this song with a melody possessing the refreshing vibe of a clear sky after the rain. Prepare yourself and your ears for the power that is MORE MORE JUMP!’s singing voices!”

The 4-koma manga associated with the event has also already been uploaded! In it, something that we all know is reinforced: Shizuku is a trainwreck around machines and electronics!

ProSEKA Story Theater: MORE MORE JUMP! Chapter

To help fans grow even closer to the MORE MORE JUMP! members, the ProSEKA Story Theater continues on January 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM (JST)!

This time, we get to listen to real-time commentary by Yoshioka Mayu (voice actress for Haruka) and Honnizumi Rina (voice actress for Shizuku) as they watch MORE MORE JUMP!’s unit story. Just like with Leo/need’s Story Theater, expect a lot of insight from the voice actresses, and possibly also some tears shed as they recollect the feelings of the character whom they portray.

Wondershow Channel #4 Livestream

Finally, the next Wondershow Channel livestream will stream on January 25 at 7:00 PM (JST)!

Hirose Daisuke and Kino Hina (voice actress for Emu) will serve as hosts for the guests, Imai Fumiya (voice actor for AKito) and Suzuki Minori (voice actress for Ena)! So you can expect there to be even more news and updates announced for later!
