PC Award (1 winner)

The CELSYS representative(s) wanted to draw to attention how beautiful the refined use of colours used to convey KAITIO surrounded in gorgeous flowers inside a garden house are.

Mobile Award (2 Winners)

Representatives of Ibis mentioned about how the pale colours in the first art convey a sense of divine beauty, while the small details, like the banisters in the background being designed after piano keys were also nice.

For the second piece shown, the Ibis judges noted how the composition made this piece look just live an actual live broadcast, with a hint of cherry blossoms matching the current season.

Coloring Award (1 winner)

The judges mentioned how this artwork makes it look like Tsukasa is standing and sparkling on stage (which perfectly reflects him, his ideals and personality when you think about it). The colour balance is very good, especially the use of colourful balloons against a black background, which makes them stand out!

Time-lapse Prize (1 winner)

Project SEKAI Prize (11 winners)

The first nii-go Miku here uses bright colours, much different to those used within the world and official artwork of Project SEKAI, and yet it still has depth and beauty, which appealed to the judge(s).

For the second piece here, Project SEKAI representative(s) mentioned how well executed the use of the clover imagery was, especially considering it’s the motif of MORE MORE JUMP!

The third piece, with Len, is said to give off big “VBS vibes”, what with the use of bright, bold colours, even for the shadowing!

Despite the use of very similar colours throughout (lots of purples and pinks), the image is framed in such a way that reflects Luka and her design, you’re drawn into her face and expression.

For the MEIKO piece, her mature femininity and coolness of the Street SEKAI have clearly been conveyed. It’s also nice to see the other Street SEKAI virtual singers featured in picture frames in the background

The KAITO next to her also seems to have a very mature aura about it, what with the desaturated tones across it.

The Project SEKAI team judge was fond of the jewel/gemstone-like look of this piece featuring Ichika, created using various colours and well-placed highlights.

In Minori’s case, the next art here uses bright, saturated colours, reflecting the character’s youthful vigour, and how her personality can light up a room, as well as the general energy and cuteness of an idol. The judge mentions noticing the sea otter in the background (a motif related to Minori) and they laughed.

With the colouring featuring Kohane, it’s said that a sense of dynamism has been created through the strong lighting and graffiti-esque aspects. Various moods are portrayed here – calmness, boldness, cuteness – all which reflect Vivid BAD SQUAD as a complex and interesting group of characters.

Next to Kohane is a Tsukasa surrounded by a barrage of things, and yet you’re still drawn into him as the centre of the image. An exciting work, executed well with lots to look at.

You can almost feel the light wind fluttering Kanade’s hair in this artwork which is simple but filled with depth. The faded filter-like look conveys a rather lonely feeling, refelcting the unit and its members.

Merit Award (5 winners)

With the Ichika above, it feels as though you’re opening a door to a wonderful song being performed on stage. The fireworks in the background make for a beautiful scene.

The next nii-go Miku colour-in gives off a sense of spring, with the flower basket gently swinging in the breeze, perfectly accentuating the flowing hair of the lineart.

Following on from that, this next Luka colouring is reminiscent of a classrom after dark, but despite the dim lighting, you can feel rather refreshed and relaxed.

MEIKO in the fourth colouring here has a clearly mature look, making it look almost like a portrait, with a good sense of texture and shadow expressed.

The glossy look, as well as the lipstick and eyeshadow give off a sexy look, perfectly showcasing Luka’s matureness and adult charms!

Honorable Mentions (30 winners)

In the most recent Nurimasu! contest, it was nice to see a variety of character cards re-coloured, and each of the artists’ skills were clearly shown with how many different moods and concepts could be conveyed, even with the same lineart. In terms of characters used for winning pieces, we had…

  • 8x Nii-go Miku
  • 6x Tsukasa
  • 6x Rin
  • 6x Luka
  • 5x Ichika
  • 4x Len
  • 4x Kohane
  • 3x KAITO
  • 3x Minori
  • 3x MEIKO
  • 2x Kanade

Quite an interesting spread, wouldn’t you say? Looks like Miku from the Uninhabited SEKAI really is a firm fan favourite, and of course our showman Tsukasa has garnered much favour himself!

Congrats to everyone who won a prize in the contest, and well done to everyone who made an effort to join in! If you’re a creative mind and are looking for more Project SEKAI related art contests, why don’t you try the monthly costume design contest too? There’s still time to enter for this month, so good luck with that too!
