Project SEKAI Costume Design Campaign Round 7 Results
The results for the well-anticipated newest Costume Design Contest from Project SEKAI came in a while back, and we sure have some real unique designs for it! For anyone looking to have a small pyjama party in the Sekai, you’ve come to the right place – April’s theme was indeed “A design based around the theme of pyjamas”. Check below for the results (including honourable mentions, once again) as well as translations of judges’ commentary and notes from the artist.

Winner for the theme “Pyjamas” – Women
Title of work:「安眠☽DreamingRibbon」/ PeacefulSleep☽DreamingRibbon
Design by DECO (@dekodecodede)
Time it’ll be available in-game: September 2021
Judges comments:
These cute pyjamas are an outfit that you’d likely find in the real world [as opposed to the Sekai], but it also makes for an adorable costume that suits the characters in-game. This design was chosen because of the attention to detail, such as the huge ribbon on the back of the cardigan, which is characteristic of her unit [Wonderlands x Showtime], as well as the frills and materials used.
Other notable points from the artist:
- She’s wearing a headband [with a bow]
- The costume is made up of a combination of a camisole and short shorts
- On the chest of the camisole, there’s a musical stave created using white thread (the music shown is from Schubert’s Lullaby)
- There is a Miku having a nap inside the right pocket of the cardigan
- There are small ribbons on the buttons of the cardigan
- Her indoor slippers are fluffy inside
- There’s a voluminous, fluffy ribbon on her back
DECO also did a cute illustration of Emu showing off their winning design here! :
Winner for the theme “Pyjamas” – Men
Title of work:「アグレッシブ寝相ウェア」/ Aggressive Sleepwear
Design by コチュジャンのもの / (@onokorom)
Time it’ll be available in-game: September 2021
Judges comments:
Where do we start with such a creative design! The outfit seems as though it’s been patched together using a variety of materials, giving it a rather chaotic look, but we decided to choose it as a winner since although the outfit is very loosely hanging, it still retains an overall sense of unity and is a good representation of pyajamas overall.
Other notable points from the artist:
- The headband is there for the sake of keeping your hair back when it’s being unruly
- The main colour shown in teh design sheets is the designated “Len/KAITO” colourway by the artist
- The other proposed colourways were: “poison” (purple & green), monochrome and a “Mikudayo print” one (with Ichika smiling somewhere on there too)
- There’re ribbons in the trousers which are gathered and hold the hems up
And again, our winning artist has drawn an illustration featuring our boys wearing the different outfit colourways:
Honourable mentions – Women
These are costumes that won’t be added to the game, but that the contest judges felt deserve recognition and appreciation! We won’t be translating everything to do with the following designs for now, but at least you get to see them, and can possibly use them as a reference for what the judges are looking for in these contests.
Title of work:「Drop into セカイ」/ Drop into the Sekai
Design by にんじん (@ninjin0222)
Title of work:「ウェルカムファンタジー」/ Welcome Fantasy
Design by まぐ(magu.) (@Shisui_992)
Honourable mentions – Men
Title of work:「おやすみくまさん」/ Nighty Night Mr. Bear
Design by 史楼 (@shiprou)
Title of work:「SLEEP SHEEP」
Design by ゐと* / Ito (@ito_png)
*For any sleuths out there, you might notice that 「ゐ」 doesn’t pop up on a Hiragana/Katakana chart for learning Japanese. That’s because it’s one of the obselete letters, “wi” (read commonly as just “i”)! Cool huh?
The winning designs (excluding honourable mentions) for the theme of “Pyjamas” will be featured as items as part of the Premium Mission Pass throughout September 2021*! Artists whose work is featured in the game will also be added to the game credits, and receive a 3,000 yen Amazon gift voucher!
Example of what the Premium Mission Pass looks like in-game for reference:
*Please note that the Premium Mission Pass is a pay-to-access feature. It costs 1960 yen for the whole month, and gives you “paid” crystals (x1800) and Virtual Coins (x1800). To unlock the outfit for Premium Mission Pass, you’ll need to earn approximately 25 Live Points before the end of the month. For other colourways of the featured outfit, you’ll need to earn 6000, 7000 and 8000 Live Points before the end of the given month.
Some pretty interesting ideas for the theme of “Pyjamas” have been showcased, huh? Are these costumes something you’d think of investing in, or are you eagerly awaiting the release of some of our previous winning outfits? Either way, the stream of costume design contests for Project Sekai ain’t stoppin’ anytime soon, and if you’re interested, find out more about this month’s ongoing one here!
