Project SEKAI Costume Design Campaign Round 9 Results
This month’s results feature even more staggeringly gorgeous costume designs for the characters of Project SEKAI, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring them to you! If you weren’t already aware, the ProSEKA team like to get fans involved with the progress and development of the game by holding competitions to enter, such as ones to design outfits based around a theme. This month’s theme was “Gothic”, and any budding fashion enthusiast should be excited to add the following winning looks to their in-game collection for sure.
Check below for the results (including honourable mentions, once again) as well as translations of judges’ commentary and notes from the artist.

Winner for the theme “Gothic” – Women
Title of work:「ノアールシュヴァリエ」/ Noir Chevalier
Design by ヒイノ / Hiino (@msd_hiiino)
Time it’ll be available in-game: November 2021
Judges comments:
It’s wonderful how the outfit is made up entirely of a monotone colour scheme, with accessories, components and patterns characteristic of gothic fashion giving it a very trim, neat look overall.
When you notice all the small references to songs throughout the design, you can really feel the artist’s love for the game, and this lead to us choosing it as a winner.
Other notable points from the artist:
- “It’s not just about being protected,
my aim was to draw a costume which radiates a feeling of strength and dignity as you wear it.
Everyone’s place of battle… place where they shine bright… I feel as though that would be the Live stage in-game.
Because of this, I made sure to include references to the aspects of the Lives, such as the notes, musical scores of songs and more.” - The crossed corsetry is a reference to the map of Dappou Rock in-game.
- There is a band around her leg with a pattern made up of clovers (referencing the song “Tenshi no Clover“) and diamond-like shapes, referencing the song “Stella“.
- The strap running perpendicular to this (up her leg) has a pattern referencing “IDSMILE “.
- The sleeves have small heart motifs as a reference to “The World Hasn’t Even Started Yet“.
- The white pattern at the end of the sleeves is a reference to song “KING“.
- On the side view of the outfit, on the hip there is a diamond-like image referencing “Wah Wah World“.
- The curved lines at the top of the boots are in reference to “RAD DOGS“.
- There’s a pattern referencing “Jishou Mushoku” going down theside of the boots.
- The swirling, curved pattern on her cape is a reference to “Sekai“.
Winner for the theme “Gothic” – Men
Title of work:「EVIL ONE」
Design by へいわ / Heiwa (@heiwwwwwwa)
Time it’ll be available in-game: November 2021
Judges comments:
The frills and other cute components blend in well with the overall dark atmosphere, and results in a look resembling that of a devil or vampire – an excellent look with a cool, gothic charm!
We want to see the characters dancing in it, what with its impressive silhouette, and this factor (as well as the other highlights) are why we chose it as a winner!
The artist also drew a fanart based on their winning design:
Note: As a bit of trivia, artist Heiwa was actually a runner up in round 6 of these contests! It’s nice to see that they finally get to see one of their designs added to the game!
Honourable mentions – Women
These are costumes that won’t be added to the game, but the contest judges felt deserve recognition and appreciation! We won’t be translating everything to do with the following designs for now, but at least you get to see them, and can possibly use them as a reference for what the judges are looking for in these contests.
