Wonderhoi Challenge
As usual, viewers were encouraged at the start of the livestream to tweet about it with the hashtag #プロセカ生放送 to get it to become the #1 trend on Twitter, which they successfully did, and got every player 500 Crystals!
Contest News
Next came a recap of the recent winners in the 3rd ProSEKA Next song contest, and the animal-themed 6th Project SEKAI Outfit Design campaign.
The winner of the song contest is 加賀 (ネギシャワーP) / Kaga (NegiShowerP) with their song 泡沫未来 / Utakata Mirai (The Bubble Future)!
Judges’ commentary:
The song composition and placement of each and every note are of really high quality, and the sound of the background instruments really pull you in. Furthermore, the VOCALOID tuning is very well done, making for a really easy to listen to song that naturally gets you wanting to move your body. It’s for those reasons that we chose it as our winner!
Producer commentary:
This is a great honor. I made this song while keeping in mind the universe described in the lyrics, and what the VOCALOID vocals would be like. I believe that I managed to capture of appeal of Miku’s voice. I’m really eager to get to play the song in ProSEKA, and hope that everyone else enjoys it, too!
Then came a closer look at the winning “animal” outfit designs that will be implemented in the game come this August, along with some honorable mentions! You can learn more about them and read commentary from the judges and artists here!
Update Info
For the next corner, Kondo Yuichiro came on the livestream to explain some long-awaited game updates, addressing issues and changes that were first brought up during Wondershow Channel #4.
The most major change is in how the game now handles player disconnects during Multi-Live play. Now, if one or more players get disconnected during a Multi-Live (either intentionally or unintentionally), the final score of the remaining players will recalculated to exclude the scores of disconnected players, and will then be weighed against a base score determined by the number of players who remained until the end of Multi-Live.
For example, if two players disconnect, then the base score needed to get an S rank will be treated as if there were only three people playing the Multi-Live to begin with. The game will then tally up the scores of the three players who remained to the end, and assign a final grade (C, B, A or S) based o only their performance. Therefore, as long as those three players did well, then their grade will be high and they will get the proportionate Coin, Experience and item rewards, even if two other players left the live midway.
This same disconnected player exclusion will also apply to getting Super Fever. Now, if a player disconnects before or during Fever Chance, the game will only take into consideration the amount of successful note taps from the players who remain until the end of Fever Chance, and trigger Fever or Super Fever based on only their combo strings and performance. This will make it much easier to get Super Fever and its accompany extra rewards for players who play the whole Multi-Live from beginning to end, never quitting the live no matter how poorly things may be going for them.
Also with the new update, numerous character missions will be getting new level additions. As more people play the game and reach the maximum levels of each mission for their favorite character(s), they will naturally want more goals to aim for, so these new additions will no doubt please the veteran players! The new character mission additions will be for:
- Play lives as leader (+10 levels)
- Getting sent to the waiting room (i.e. getting duplicated cards for them in gacha) (+10 levels)
- Acquiring an outfit (+5 levels)
- Increasing Skill Level for their cards (+20 levels)
- Increasing Master Rank for their cards (+20 levels)
- Reading part 1 of a sub-story (+10 levels)
- Reading part 2 of a sub-story (+10 levels)
Finally, there were some minor changes made regarding Gacha Seal Exchange Tickets.
Now, these tickets (both the regular [green] variety and Limited [pink] variety) no longer need to be changed into Gacha Seals in order to be used, but can now be used in conjunction with Gacha Seals that you acquire through gacha pulls in order to exchange them for a ★4 gacha member card from the current game event.
For example, if you pull 200 cards and acquire 200 Gacha Seals for an event gacha, you no longer need to convert 10 Gacha Seal Exchange Tickets into 100 Gacha Seals in order to get the necessary 300 Gacha Seals. Now you can exchange 200 Gacha Seals + 10 Gacha Seal Exchange Tickets (each ticket still has a value of 10 seals) to reach the required 300 Gacha Seals needed to acquire your ★4 gacha member card of choice.
These changes were made to reduce the risk of exchanging the wrong amount of tickets when trying to get to 300 Gacha Seals. This is a big deal because only up to 100 Gacha Seals can be converted back into tickets for later use, so it’s important to players to exchange just the right amount so as to not waste any precious seals.
Finally, other updates include a change in the rewards for completing the tutorial of the game, and also allowing players to acquire the monthly Premium Pass outfit with just 25 Live Points (the first unlock tier). Note that the latter update only applies to the outfit’s original color version; the alternate color versions still need to be unlocked with diligent play and acquiring at least 6000 Live Points.
This was made for players who don’t have that much free time to play and unlock the outfit, so it is surely a welcome change for busy people. For those who have the time and welcome the challenge, unlocking the alternate color versions still has the same Live Point requirement, so this change should please both parties!
For a very detailed description of these and more changes made with the latest update, please see the below tweet thread from pjsekai_eng!

Sekai ver. (Tenma Tsukasa, Kamishiro Rui) - Toki mentioned during the livestream that two different versions of the Sekai ver. were recorded, each having a different feel from the other; however, even he does not know which one will be used in the game, so we will have to see later
Title: magic number

- Illustration, PV: 賀茂川 / Kamogawa
This is the song that Ito Kent – voice actor for Toya – has been working on these past several months with OSTER project, and is now almost ready to be released for us to play in the game!
They finally play a sample of the song during the livestream which you can jump straight to by clicking here!
Toki also bragged about having already heard the whole song! He did add that the version he listened to was not the final version, so try to refrain from directing your jealously at him until we can all finally get to hear the full, final version!
Finally, it was also revealed that the vocals use Hatsune Miku NT! How Ito and OSTER project will make the newest version of Miku is something else to look forward to!
Continuing on, it was announced that a future MORE MORE JUMP! event in May will feature an original song by Junky! Check to a preview of it below with all its cute penguins, hinting that this event could be centered around Haruka who loves penguins!
Commentary from Junky:
This is Junky. I’m as happy as can be from the bottom of my heart to be able to compose a song for such a lovely game. It’s a great thing to work one’s hardest, but I believe that being able to share that work with others is where true happiness lies. I’d be overjoyed to see lots of people share and delight in this song.
And then came the even more exciting announcement that had Imai’s heart racing the whole time leading up to the news:
There will also be an original song written for the next Vivid BAD SQUAD event by Ayase!
Ayase is not only a famous VOCALOID producer, but also a celebrity music artist in Japan whose most well known song is 夜に駆ける / Yoru ni Kakeru (Racing into the Night), a song sung by Ikuta Lilas of YOASOBI. The song won many accolades since its debut in 2019, and was recently featured on NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen and even in other rhythm games!
And speaking of Yoru ni Kakeru, the announcements concerning Ayase didn’t end there!
The Project SEKAI x Ayase official tie-up is now on!
Under this new partnership, it’s not just the original Vivid BAD SQUAD song that we’ll be getting from Ayase, but two cover songs as well!
The first cover song is 幽霊東京 / Yuurei Tokyo (Ghost City Tokyo), now available for purchase and play at the time of this writing!
- Music, lyrics, arrangement: Ayase
- Available MVs: none
- Available versions:
Virtual Singer ver. (Hatsune Miku)
Sekai ver. (Shinonome Akito, Aoyagi Toya, KAITO)
Another Vocal ver. (Aoyagi Toya)
And coming next will the aforementioned Yoru ni Kakeru!
- Music, lyrics, arrangement: Ayase
- Available MVs: none
- Available versions:
Virtual Singer ver. (Hatsune Miku)
Sekai ver. (Yoisaki Kanade, Hatsune Miku)
Another Vocal ver. (Hoshino Ichika)
Another Vocal ver. (Hinomori Shizuku)
Another Vocal ver. (Azusawa Kohane)
Another Vocal ver. (Kusanagi Nene)
Another Vocal ver. (Yoisaki Kanade)
That’s right, as part of the Ayase partnership, Yoru ni Kakeru will feature no less than five different Another Vocal versions, one for each unit in the game! This is the first time a song has ever received such an honor in Project SEKAI!
The livestream cast also promise that each version will have a very different vibe appropriate to each character that sings the song. Time to start saving those character vocal cards!
For those who don’t have enough vocal cards, but would like to listen to the Another Vocal versions now, they can also be heard on the Project SEKAI YouTube channel!
And here are some words from Ayase himself about the new song that he composed for Vivid BAD SQUAD!
This is a song that straight-up contains my own feelings. I think there are many other who share the same feelings. It’s my hope that this song can give them the push that they need, and that they can find comfort in it. It’d bring me great joy if they could play this game and experience the core of this song, as well as ‘Yuurei Tokyo’ and ‘Yoru ni Kakeru’
At this point in the livestream, Toki pointed out how “KING, “Ayaseさん (Ayase-san),” “Junky,” “幽霊東京 (Yuurei Tokyo),” “ビビバス (Vivid BAD SQUAD)” and “モモジャン (MORE MORE JUMP)” were all trending on Twitter! Never underestimate the power of Project SEKAI fans and what we can do on social media!
Campaigns
Riding the wave of all this excitement came some more good news for players.
Golden Week started on April 29th in Japan, and also starting on that day was the Golden Week Login campaign! Between then and May 20th, log in the the game to receive a Live Boost Drink (Large) and various other items from Music Cards to gems to Memory Shards each day for up to 11 days!
Another special campaign going on now is the level-up campaign! When playing lives until May 10th, the amount of experience points that you earn for raising unit ranks and member level will be multiplied by 1.5x! This will make it easier to raise your units and member cards to higher levels in order to unlock and read unit/side stories during Golden Week!
Other Announcements
Now for some new content outside of the game that fans can look forward to.
Event Story Theater
Following the Main Story Theater, the Event Story Theater livestreams will soon be happening! Enjoying reliving the past event stories together with the voice actors and actresses themselves and comment/tweet in real-time about them! Look forward to announcements on the full schedule soon!
New Pocari Sweat Collaboration
Some fans may remember the accidental product placement from the Half-Anniversary Livestream that prompted Nakashima to make a hasty announcement about a new Pocari Sweat collaboration with Leo/need. This time, she got to make the full announcement for real!
The newly inaugurated Pocari Sweat Ambassadors are indeed none other than the Leo/need members along with Hatsune Miku!
At noontime on May 6, a new collaboration video featuring the new ambassadors will be released along with a “7DAYS POCARI BOX” retweet campaign!
The theme of their campaign will be “heat adaptation / 書熱順化,” as in one’s ability take measures to grow more used to rising temperatures and avoid heat strokes, such as taking baths, doing light exercises, and – you guessed it – drinking Pocari Sweat!
Through the above-mentioned retweet campaign, fans can even win a box containing one week’s worth of Pocari Sweat with Leo/need character art, and explanations on heat adaptation told through cute Miku illustrations!
We’re told to keep an eye on the official Pocari Sweat Twitter account and upcoming campaign website for further instructions when the video goes live on May 6th!
Project SEKAI Half Anniversary Exhibition
The next bit of news concerns the previously announced upcoming Half Anniversary Exhibition. While specific details are still scarce, an official website and Twitter account have been opened for the exhibit!
Project SEKAI Half Anniversary Exhibition official site: https://pjsekai-exhibition.com/
Project SEKAI Half Anniversary Exhibition official Twitter: https://twitter.com/pjsekai_ex
The website and Twitter reveal that the exhibit will be open from May 22nd through June 6th, 2021. What’s more, tickets are already on sale for ¥500 JPY!
Events like these tend to sell out of tickets fast, so if you have the means to go during the dates when the exhibit will be open, then we highly encourage you to secure your tickets here on Lawson Ticket!
For those who can’t make it in person, there will also be a free online version of the exhibit opening on June 11th at 12:00 PM (JST)!
We also get a look at the goods that will be available for purchase at the exhibition! They will be available for online purchase as well during the online exhibit period, so rest assured that all fans will be able to access them! They are:
- Character badge collections
- Acrylic stand collections (mini size)
- Tote bags
- Konpeito candy jars
- Uchiwa fans
Nakashima also announced that there are exclusive goods being planned for online purchase, so stay tuned for more information as the opening day for the exhibit approaches!
Project SEKAI Piano
Fans may remember the unveiling of the Project SEKAI Piano that you can review here.
Now it has been announced that starting in May, in addition to 千本桜 / Senbonzakura, visitors to the Yamaha store locations where the piano will be available for play will also have the option of playing 青く駆けろ!/ Aoku Kakero! (Run Into the Blue!) by まらしぃ / Marasy!
We had the pleasure of trying out Senbonzakura on the piano ourselves, but now we can’t wait to return to the store and try out Aoku Kakero! next! Here are pictures of our first experience, and look forward to pictures from our next visit!
New Merchandise
Now onto merch news, which has become plentiful in recent months!
First, the planned April 29th release for character acrylic charms and long clear file folders has happened, and now the goods can be purchased on the SEGA Store and at Animate shops in Japan! You can review specific information about them here.
But if you thought that SEGA was stopping there, you’d be wrong. So very, very wrong.
Already announced are the new SEGA Prize items that will be making their way to SEGA game centers for you to win. That’s right, you’ll have to earn these Project SEKAI acrylic keychains with stands, and character mascot plushies!
Note that although they are not shown below, Wonderlands×Showtime and 25-ji, Night Code de. mascot plushies are also in the making and will be obtainable.
And SEGA still isn’t done!
Coming on May 17th to online shops are the 25-ji nesoberi plushies! Each one will be priced (fittingly) at ¥2,500 JPY, and they will be followed by nesoberi plushies of the other unit characters coming afterwards!
For more information, keep an eye on SEGA Plaza!
Sepcial Events
Finally, we learn some preliminary information about the upcoming real-world events for some of the units!
First, the event taking place at the KONICA MINOLTA Planetarium “Manten” in Sunshine City is described as an original program screening themed around Leo/need. Furthermore, it will be showing for 17 days from July 2nd through July 18th!
Coming before that, however, will be the Vivid BAD SQUAD Concept Café, also at Ikebukuro Sunshine City! This café event will take place for one whole month from June 18th through July 19th, and will feature mini character illustrations, and original food dishes and goods for customers to order!
However, coming before all that will be the Wonderlands×Showtime in NAMJA TOWN event! Customers will be able to play some Wondershow-themed minigames, order collaboration dessert and food dishes, and purchase collaboration goods with original artwork. In short, we’ll probably get a taste of what the actual Phoenix Wonderland is like when the event takes place from June 16th through July 11th!
While no new information was revealed for them, the upcoming events for MORE MORE JUMP! and 25-ji, Nightcord de. are still in the works, and Toki promises that we will love them too! We don’t doubt his words one bit!
That rounds up the plethora of new announcements for the latest Wondershow Channel livestream. From the first artist tie-up partnership to the first song to get an Another Vocal version from all five units, we will no doubt see many “firsts” in Project SEKAI as the game enters the second half of its first year in service.
We hope everyone continues to enjoy playing the game, and we will continue to cover it!
